Examples of Work
Here we show some examples of the type of building work we can undertake for our customers:

Cedar and glass
We are always ready for a challenge and this build certainly provided a few. The basic architectural design was to convert the old garage into a recreation come living room and extend the small balcony over the new garage, with a terrace hidden behind a mono-pitch roof. We finally created an oak floored feature room, with oak window seats and fireplace. The terrace was completed with the tiled mono-pitch roof cantilevered out over the garden, in keeping with the deep eaves look of the original house, topped with a glazed panel cedar framed balustrade, to maintain the great views from the living room. The Terrace was also finished with cedar decking, giving the whole project a Canadian mountain house feel. Finally the old cedar sliding doors were recycled to fit the new garage.

Garden Studio or Guest Annex
There are always solutions to a design problem. Here we designed and built an extension to an old brick garage, keeping the historical vernacular of the Weald with shiplap cladding to the walls and clay peg tiles in the roof. Within a bedroom and en-suite shower room were included and the old garage became a day room or studio.
The space available was wedge shaped, not that you would know from the garden side. The design made this possible despite the tight planning regulations and boundary restriction. This type of garden building is also ideal for a home office or young adult accommodation, both common requirement in today's changing lifestyles.
Updating the late 20th Century Home for the 21st Century
Most houses in the last century were built to a few basic floor layouts, not always functioning well for today's needs. Many of our clients are looking to alter their home to fit their lifestyle. With a little time and plenty of imagination we can remodel update your living space. Wish lists often include the kitchen combined with a family come dining for a casual weekend or so parent can keep an eye on the children. Conservatories are popular, but a rationed approach to glazing this extra space can make it light and airy but thermally efficient all year room. With careful planning features like these can be combined in a design that opens up other bonuses like an en-suite for the master bedroom.
